Our Commitment to Safety

Safety is Paramount

The health and safety of our employees is first and foremost. Safety is non-negotiable and will not be compromised…ever.

The foundation of Lakeland’s Health Safety and Environment program id based on two fundamental principles. “What gets measured gets done” and “Safety is line management driven”.

It is very important to Lakeland that all employees home to their families at the end of every work day.

Our comprehensive safety management systems focus on proactive safety performance driven by engaged leadership. Our safety results exceed those of industry and continually lead to WCB discounted costs.

We maintain COR certification and have prequalification results of A or green with ISNet, Avetta and CanQual.

Lakeland Insulations Ltd is proud to have one of the most comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs in the industry. Lakeland’s commitment to “doing the right thing” and a genuine concern for each other has resulted in maximum WCB discounts in all three provinces where we conduct business and a TRIF well below the industry norm.

We are committed to continuous improvement and to achieving our safety goal of “Zero Incidents.” We are aligned with our customers’ expectations and have developed new and innovative safety best practices to help us achieve these objectives.  This involves the development of safety management systems to create the following:

Positive Accountability

Performance is measured through a number of proactive leading indicators to ensure that our safety program is line management driven.

Safety Program Performance Measurement

One of Lakeland’s safety management philosophies is “What gets measured gets done” We have developed several KPI’s for all levels of management and supervision. Measurement of these positive safety interactions provide quick and efficient program performance feedback.

Visible Engaged Leadership

All levels of management and supervision are required to actively participate in proactive safety responsibilities at measurable frequencies.

Worker Participation

The entire workforce is involved in all aspects of the safety program. Workers routinely lead the safety meeting, project safety inspections, and peer to peer observations. This culture demonstrates ownership and reinforces that safety success in a team effort.
